Vedic Meditation - a simple, effortless mental technique

Why meditate?

The science of the benefits of Vedic meditation is unambiguous and is well documented in thousands of peer-reviewed studies. Here are a sample of studies.

More importantly, the direct experience of the many people who practice this technique and can attest to the changes in their lives.

  • This 2022 meta-analysis found reduction in mental health symptoms including stress, post-traumatic stress anxiety and depression.

This study on school teachers found a significant improvement in stress, depression and burnout symptoms after seven months.

    More studies here and here.

  • The deep rest during meditation and better quality sleep, all result in greater energy.

  • Our bodies are able to rest far more deeply during Vedic meditation, demonstrated by this study. Significant reductions were found in metabolic rate, heart rate, breath rate and skin resistance.

  • This 2022 study found it produced decreases in anxiety, as well as reductions in depression.

  • This study in middle school students demonstrated improvements in emotional intelligence (self-control, self-reflection/awareness, and flexibility in emotional response) as well as academic performance.

  • Lower blood pressure, decreased cholesterol and reduced risk of heart failure.

Increases in immune cells, leukocytes and lymphocytes.

  • This 2018 study on emergency department staff showed improved attention, awareness and coping skills after practicing mantra based meditation over a 6 week period.

  • A study on college students found increases in Brain Integration Scale scores (broadband frontal coherence, power ratios, and preparatory brain responses).

Testimonials

“I have just learnt Vedic meditation from Simone and to say it has been life changing is an understatement. Initially the huge benefit was an incredible boost to the quality of my sleep. There has been a deep and profound shift in my inner being and it has really fast tracked some radical shifts in life decisions. I have been able to remove myself from many friendships that no longer serve me and I feel as if meditation has helped me to clear my mind to make those previously difficult decisions. I really look forward to the twice a day meditations and really prioritise them. If I miss the evening one then I have done it as soon as there has been time and it has felt just as beneficial as the meditation done at the usual time. Also, my dog always joins me and usually sleeps on the floor at my feet or in the room with me while I am meditating. I feel as if she also gets some vicarious beneficial effect from it as well and I have no rational explanation for that but trust my intuition on that. I recommend Vedic meditation very highly to anybody vacillating about whether or not to try it.”

About Simone

If you had told me years ago that I would quit my job to become a meditation teacher, I wouldn’t have believed you. I was working in a demanding job in prison reform in New York city. Vedic Meditation was the last resort in a slew of solutions I was trying out to combat burn out, insomnia and anxiety.

I felt the benefits almost immediately and my life improved immeasurably. A year of study and practice, culminated in three months studying under the guidance of my teacher, Thom Knoles in the foothills of the Himalayas.

It is a great honour and privilege to be able to share this knowledge and I hope to change people’s lives the way it did mine.
